OCT 2020 – PRESENT
Senior Software Engineer (2025–) · Senior Systems Engineer (2022–2025) · CW Systems Engineer (2020–2022)
- Led end-to-end development of a 20+Tbps capture-network platform behind synchronized, large-scale camera capture for the Codec Avatars program: down-selected network, server, and rack hardware, designed reusable rack-level building blocks, then joined the software team to build the configuration layer and drove bring-up with networking partners.
- Reduced Infrastructure cost by 20%+ at the largest capture sites; reduced new-configuration time from months to hours; took capture reliability from intermittent to consistent.
- Proved scale feasibility of, designed, and implemented lossless runtime data compression in the live capture path using asynchronous GPU compute — absorbing variable GPU transfer, compression, and copy-back latency while writing to disk at line rate — cutting data-to-disk by 60%, extending session runtimes, and increasing site throughput; supported the operations team through fleet-wide rollout and authored the maintenance documentation.
- Technical DRI across multiple teams: integrated GPU hardware acceleration into low-latency image pipelines, led resolution of system-stability issues, and built extensive Hardware-in-the-Loop and maintenance tooling.

APR 2019 – OCT 2020
Software Engineer
- Integrated new COTS hardware into a DoD program more than twenty years old: debugged FPGA timing and signal-flow issues, integrated custom FPGA IP onto vendor equipment, and wrote the first hardware drivers for VxWorks 7 on modern superscalar processors.
- Implemented low-latency, high-throughput imaging systems from hardware to userspace, delivering demonstration software to the program.

Interactive Robotics Laboratory — West Virginia University
AUG 2014 – DEC 2018
Embedded System Programmer
- Embedded firmware designer for the WVU Cataglyphis rover — first place, NASA Centennial Sample Return Robot Challenge, 2015 and 2016.
- Built embedded and ROS-based control and communication systems for a range of land- and air-based research vehicles.

JAN 2017 – AUG 2017
Lead RockSat-X Payload Firmware and FPGA Engineer
- Demonstrated viability of solid-state particle detectors in the upper atmosphere on a Xilinx Zynq-7000 FPGA SoM: custom IP cores for noise-floor analysis and particle-event capture, with in-flight data logging and a radio-relay system serving four independent asynchronous serial lines for other experiments.
